Open Arms for Animals in Need.
BC Humane Society is involved with animal welfare at many levels across the province. From heroic acts of rescue, to conducting spay and neuter clinics in remote communities, to ongoing fundraising events, we step up for animals in every possible way.
BC Humane Society accepts dogs, cats, and small animals from Vancouver Island and across BC who have been abandoned, mistreated, or can longer be cared for by their owners. In some instances, we partner with other rescue organizations to help save animals in dire need. For example, since our inception, we have actively worked with Whistler Sled Dog Company to save and re-home retired sled dogs.
Together, we are stronger.
The BC Humane Society is a grassroots organization with the single-minded goal to improve the lives of domestic animals in our province. With that in mind, we have partnered with other like-minded organizations in British Columbia who agree that there is no one approach to animal welfare. Through this collaborative approach, we hope to explore the connection of ideas, and build a strong network to work towards influencing government policies and social norms in regards to domestic animals.
